This is an exciting post and one that I think could be a game changer for all of us. Most of us already know what we’re passionate about. God has revealed it time and time again and we seriously WANT to dedicate a lot of time to it, but finding time for your passion is difficult! Before we dive in, here’s where we’re going each week in this Pursuing Your Passion series and how you can catch up…

Time is something funny. Every single one of us has the same amount of hours in a day and God gives us the freedom to choose how we use our time each day. Somehow though, time just escapes from our grasp and that day is gone forever. While we can’t change the past, we DO have the ability to take back our time, give it to God, and then watch Him bless your time immeasurably.
Why is finding time for your passion so important?
Y’all. This is huge! I said it earlier and I’ll say it again, God had equipped each of us with passions. When we are obedient to God with them, more people see God and the gospel. You can take the gospel further when you go after people you love using your talents and joys. It takes work though and work takes time. So dedicating time to grow and pursue your passion is very important. Prioritize Your Passion
We’ve all heard it time and time again… prioritize what’s important. It’s so true though! We all have those sacred things in our lives that we consider really important, like quiet time, exercise, school, work, sleep, and so on. Date night with my husband is really important to me, so we prioritize it every week. Something else that’s become important to me is writing. I’m passionate about writing on this blog and in other avenues so I try really hard to make it a priority in my daily life.
So how do you find time to pursue your passion when 100 other things are pulling at you? You create it. We each have 24 hours in a day and that won’t ever change. What can change is how we choose to fill those 24 hours. Be intentional with your schedule and create a time block to grow deeper into what God’s calling you to do. Don’t just hope you’ll have time later this week! Put it in writing that every morning at 5 am, every night at 10 pm, or every Tuesday afternoon you are going to start that Etsy business, write for your blog, volunteer at church, create music, FILL IN THE BLANK! Start now, sister! I promise you will not regret it.
Creating time in your schedule is something only you can do, but having close friends or family there to support and push you also helps make your passion a priority. This is especially true if you’re looking to pursue your passion in a full-time capacity. Don’t try to go it alone! God has placed special people in each of our lives to support and push us into God’s calling. So whether you’re looking to become a full-time missionary or just pursuing more consistency in your small business or you’re even just trying to begin your passion, find some women to hold you accountable! It doesn’t feel good all the time, trust me. As time goes on though, you’ll begin to see the fruits of your consistency.
Ask for God’s Help
Finally, most importantly, ask for God’s help! I think so many times I forget to just tell God I need His help, strength, and power. God promises us this in Jeremiah 29:12-13, “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Go to Him with your requests! Ask Him to multiply the work of your hands. If you have limited time to dedicate to your passion in this season of life, ask God to help you guard that time and make it count every time.
Side note, it’s also okay to pray for success with your passion! Success means more people see His glory and love through your actions. Ultimately, success looks differently for everyone, so as you pray, be expectant for God to bring success in His way and timing. I truly believe God wants us to be successful in our passions!
I’m praying for each of you as you read this. I pray that you will have a breakthrough and begin prioritizing your passion to the next level for you. Even if that’s dedicating just 30 minutes a week, call it a win!
